Happy Halloween everybody!

Published by queenofmyworld under Happy Edit This

I just wanted to take a few minutes and wish everyone a happy and safe Halloween. Also if anyone is in reading this and you live in New York I wanted to warn you gangs will be initiating tonight and are targeting women. Apparently they ask you the time and then cut your face. If you are planning on going out tonight please make sure to be safe, don’t go out alone. Women always have to worry when going out alone at night but especially tonight. Anyway that being said I hope everyone has a fun night; remember Halloween can be fun for everyone not just kids. TTFN!

A few things to talk about today

Published by queenofmyworld under Thoughts Edit This

First of all, you might have noticed today’s font is in orange not pink, this is because Halloween is tomorrow. I was planning on typing in pink for the entire month of October because it was Breast Cancer awareness month but then I figured I’d change it up. Also I though permanently having a pink ribbon on my breast was a good enough way to honor those suffering from Breast Cancer.

Since tomorrow is Halloween I also figured I would discuss what I am going to be tomorrow. I am going to be Lucy form I Love Lucy which is what I was last year. Since I don’t have a job I couldn’t really afford to go out and buy a new costume.

Lastly I wanted to make note of something I noticed on Yahoo entertainment news: Joaquin Phoenix is done with acting. He decided he would give singing a try. Apparently, when he sang in Walk The Line he realized he liked playing guitar and realized he “Had a lot of diamonds inside himself that he wanted to expel through music,” according to Tim Burgess who Phoenix is teaming up with for an album. Well that is all I’ve got for today.

Thoughts for the day…

Published by queenofmyworld under Thoughts Edit This

Here I am on another day trying to figure out what I want to blog about? I’ve been thinking a lot lately, as I usually do, about not having a job. It really gets me annoyed because finding a job is supposed to be easy once you have a Degree; at least that was what I was always told. Once I was in college there were times when I wanted to quit and I was told “You might as well finish school because if you don’t get a Degree you won’t be able to get a job.” However I guess what people fail to realize is this apparently isn’t the case when you have a Journalism Degree. When you take a second to realize that newspapers are a dying outlet and the fact that every other Journalism outlet wants you to have experience it basically all adds up to the fact that I will probably be unemployed forever. Oh well I guess that’s all I’ve got for now TTFN.

Election 2008

Published by queenofmyworld under Excited Edit This

Election Day is right around the corner, seven days to be exact, and I want to take the time to encourage everyone to vote. I also want to take this time to urge everyone to vote for Barack Obama. I feel that this country needs a change and he can bring that change.

I have to admit when Hillary Clinton did not get the Democratic nomination I was planning on not even voting. However after seeing both her and Bill’s speeches at the Democratic National Convention I knew I had to vote for Obama. John McCain will only bring four more years of the failed Republican policies the Bush administration has put into effect.

If you decide to stay home and not vote you forfeit your right to complain about the country. It is especially important for young people to get out and vote, we do not all vote and it is important that we have our voices heard. Vote, vote, vote, together we can make a change in this country!

Wish me luck, I have a job interview tomorrow!

Published by queenofmyworld under Excited Edit This

I was at Macy’s and I expressed interest in a job. I gave them my name and number and about an hour ago they called to ask me if I was available for an interview. I said yes I was and they told me to come in tomorrow at 2 p.m. So tomorrow I have my first job interview, well actually I did have to interview for my internship, so I should say my first interview for a job where I’ll be getting paid.

Anyway although it isn’t an interview for a job that I actually want at least if I got it I’d be making money. Ideally I would like to be able to actually find a Journalism job, since I did get a B.A. Oh well for now I need to make some money so if they like me I’ll take whatever I can get. Wish me luck TTFN!

American Idol Rewind

Published by queenofmyworld under TV, Thoughts Edit This

I have to say when I was watching American Idol this year and the judges kept saying, “This is the most talented group we have ever had!” well first of all I was like really even Kristy Lee Cook? But after that thought crossed my mind I thought give me a break they say that every year and it is so annoying. That being said today I was watching American Idol Rewind and it was season three and I realized the judges actually are right. This year by far had the most talented artists Idol has EVER seen. On that note I hope everyone remembers to buy David Cook’s debut album on November 18, 2008. TTFN!

I’m going to an engagement party tonight.

Published by queenofmyworld under Excited Edit This

Well I must admit I have mixed feelings about it. I am happy for the couple; they have been together for a while and are very much in love. However that being said I must admit I am a little sad because it is another reminder of how I am single. Don’t get me wrong most times I don’t mind being single, a man is one less thing that I have to stress about. Also a few months ago I had a bad break up so I am not really looking. It’s just when I see happy couples I tend to get a little down. I guess it’s the little green eyed monster flaring up inside me. That’s all for now, TTFN!

What can top yesterday’s events?

Published by queenofmyworld under Thoughts Edit This

Well I didn’t meet any Yankees today so nothing eventful to report. I will however soon be meeting a Met, hopefully. I am going to David Wright’s charity event “Do The Wright Thing” on November 12th and I’m hoping I’ll get a chance to meet him. Really when one is unemployed it is a good idea to spend $150 on an event in the hopes of meeting a Met and David Cook. He will be performing with his band and that’s why I opted to buy the ticket. Also it is for charity so that made me feel better about it. Anyway that’s pretty much all I’ve got to say for today. I’m babysitting right now so I should probably go pay attention to the kids. TTFN!

I met Jorge Posada

Published by queenofmyworld under Excited Edit This

I was riding the 34 bus home as I usually do when I decided to get off the bus at an earlier stop to go shopping. I got off at Montefiore Hospital and as I was walking from the bus I noticed New York Yankees catcher Jorge Posada, his wife Laura and their son Jorge Jr. standing in front of one of the hospital’s offices. I kept walking and hid behind a lamp post while I called my bff to ask if she thought I should approach him. She said as long as I was polite he probably wouldn’t mind. So I walked over and said “I’m sorry to bother you are my favorite player can I get your autograph?” He said okay and signed a page in my planer. Then I said, “I’m sorry to bother you again but could I get a picture?” He said “sure no problem” and I handed his wife my phone and she took a picture of us. As I walked anyway I apologized again for bothering them and again he said it was okay. Anyway that was my day here is the picture. yankees.jpg

As you might remember for a previous post I LOVE the show True Blood that being said when the show first aired I found a YouTube page about it called Blood Copy and I subscribed to it. I had forgotten I subscribed to it till today when I came across it on my YouTube page. Anyway this funny video was on it so I figured I’d post it. It’s called “Vampire Rights Amendment Cartoon” and it literally made me laugh out loud. I figured I would share it and post it here. So here it is; it actually has a catchy tune.
