Getting a tattoo
On Thursday I’ll be getting my first tattoo. The story behind it is very important to me so I thought I’d share it. I am going to get a 1 inch long pink breast cancer ribbon in honor of my Grandma. She was a breast cancer survivor who has since passed away. Thursday was her birthday so I figured it was the perfect day to get it esp. since October is breast cancer awareness month. I have been thinking about getting it for a long time but this time I am ready to do it.
I’m sure it will hurt but I’m going to try and think about how painful it must have been for my Grandma, and every woman who has breast cancer, to be told you have to have your breast removed. I was still in grade school when my Grandma had her left breast removed and I helped her change her bandages when she came home from the hospital, which is why I’m getting the ribbon on my left breast. I’ll probably blog about my experience on Thursday so stay tuned.
That’s a really nice thought. I think getting it tomorrow so you will have it healed in time to post a photo and blog about it in Breast Cancer Awareness month is a great tribute to your grandmother. I have heard the breast is not as painful as other bonier areas.
Just make sure you see them take the clean needle out of the plastic before letting them ink you.
