My new tattoo

Published by queenofmyworld under Happy Edit This

So today I got my tattoo. As you learned in my previous posts I got a pink breast cancer ribbon on my left breast. I have to say I couldn’t have asked for a more pleasant experience. The artist was very nice and the price wasn’t too bad. I ended up getting it about an inch and a half long. It wasn’t painful at all yes it was uncomfortable but by no means was it very painful. I have gotten cuts that were more painful. I will probably post a pic of it tomorrow.  Anyway to everyone who sent me their support, thanks. There will be more to come tomorrow.

I’m actually getting my tattoo tomorrow

Published by queenofmyworld under Excited Edit This

I can’t get my tattoo on Thursday because the artist is not available so I have decided to get it tomorrow. By this time tomorrow I’ll be inked. I am excited and nervous about getting it done. As my mother keeps reminding me it is going to hurt. Every time I talk to her she tell me “You know it’s going to hurt a lot.”

After the last time she told I said, “I didn’t think it was going tickle I know it is going to hurt. Think of how much it must have hurt Grandma, and countless other women, to have her breast removed. This is something I want to do and I have considered it for a very long time. Getting something permanent on my body is not something I decided on a whim. Anyway I know it’s going to hurt so wish me luck!

Getting a tattoo

On Thursday I’ll be getting my first tattoo. The story behind it is very important to me so I thought I’d share it. I am going to get a 1 inch long pink breast cancer ribbon in honor of my Grandma. She was a breast cancer survivor who has since passed away. Thursday was her birthday so I figured it was the perfect day to get it esp. since October is breast cancer awareness month. I have been thinking about getting it for a long time but this time I am ready to do it.

I’m sure it will hurt but I’m going to try and think about how painful it must have been for my Grandma, and every woman who has breast cancer, to be told you have to have your breast removed. I was still in grade school when my Grandma had her left breast removed and I helped her change her bandages when she came home from the hospital, which is why I’m getting the ribbon on my left breast. I’ll probably blog about my experience on Thursday so stay tuned.

Ugly Betty

Published by queenofmyworld under TV Edit This

Thursday’s episode of Ugly Betty was a pretty good episode. It had cameos by Regis Philbin, Kelly Ripa, and Lindsay Lohan. There were a lot of changes at Mode since last season. I don’t want to give away too much about it so instead I’ll talk about how big Rebecca Romijn got during her pregnancy. I know she’s carrying twins but you can really tell she’s pregnant and since she’s playing a transsexual the writers couldn’t write the pregnancy into the script. Seeing how fat her face got and her growing belly it’s no wonder she’s only going to be in four episodes this season. It should be fun to see if she grows even more in the next three episodes.

Grey’s Anatomy

Published by queenofmyworld under TV Edit This

I’ve got so much to say about last night’s episode. It was good and all the drama you’d expect, but I have to say I don’t think two hours were necessary. Instead of having the show go on for two hours they should have split it up into two episodes. Next week it won’t be on and I can only assume that it’s because whatever show is premiering next week will have a two hour premier. Of course since they want you to keep watching the teaser for the next episode showed the hospital getting flooded. Anyway I don’t want to give away too much in case you haven’t seen it. It was good but two hours is a bit much drama for me to handle. Instead of giving shows two hour premiers I don’t see why ABC can’t just give their shows the regular hour episodes.

bored

Published by queenofmyworld under Thoughts Edit This

I’m so bored right now and I don’t really have a clue as to what I’m going to blog about. I was thinking about writing yet again about how I need a job, but that would just frustrate and upset me again. Then I thought I could write about how it’s going to rain tonight and probably all weekend. But that would just annoy me too.

So what it can down to was writing about how I am bored. That’s basically all I’ve got for you today my faithful readers, that is assuming I actually have any. Hopefully tomorrow I’ll have something better to blog about. I probably will because tonight is the premier of Ugly Betty and Grey’s Anatomy so I’m sure I’ll have a lot to say about them. In fact I’ll probably have so much to say I might end up writing a blog about one tomorrow and the other on Saturday. Ta Ta For Now (TTFN)!

At the gym today

Published by queenofmyworld under Funny Edit This

Okay so I’ll admit that I didn’t really have any idea what I was going to blog about today even up until I started writing it. Luckily I went to the gym this evening and there was a class going on. I got to Lucille Roberts, which is an all women’s gym, and I was inspired to write a little blog about my experience there. I didn’t make it in time to participate in the class, you can’t participate if you arrive ten minutes after it starts, however I noticed the instructor was a very obviously gay man.

The reason I wanted to blog about it was because, every other time I’ve been at the gym when a class was going on there were women instructors and I never wanted to join the class. The gay instructor was making everyone laugh and saying things like “Oh girl lookin’ good, you can do it!” The women instructors aren’t as encouraging they push you and seem more like a drill sergeant. This instructor actually made working out fun. Anyway, I guess since I love gay guys and they love me it makes sense that I liked him better then the women.

David Cook’s new single

Published by queenofmyworld under Music Edit This

David Cook has a new single out today! It’s called “Light On” and it’s amazing! Here’s just a taste of it (the chorus) :Try to leave a light on when I’m gone
Something I rely on to get home
One I can feel at night
A naked light, a fire to keep me warm
Try to leave a light on when I’m gone
Even in the daylight, shine on
And when it’s late at night you can look inside
You won’t feel so alone

If you can’t wait for radio stations to play it here’s a link to where you can hear it:

I can’t add more except to say that Cook is an amazing singer and songwriter! I can’t wait till his album comes out on November 18, 2008, only 56 more days!

My itunes is scaring me

Published by queenofmyworld under Thoughts Edit This

Okay so the latest version of iTunes scares me. Its iTunes 8 and it has a thing called Genius. When I opened it up to see what the heck this new thing was it said this: “Genius makes playlists from songs in your library that go great together. The Genius sidebar recommends music from the iTunes store that you don’t already have. Turning on Genius will send information about your iTunes to library to Apple.”

Am I the only one who finds this creepy? I don’t want my iTunes creating playlists by itself that is really weird. I mean it’s the same reason I never got a TiVo I don’t want appliances making suggestions for me. A DVR never suggests things for you. If CDs weren’t basically obsolete these days I’d go back to listening to my music on them, but you’ve got to admit having an Ipod is so much more convenient, it puts all your music in one place. Oh well I guess the only thing I can do is not turn the stupid program on and hope that my iTunes doesn’t automatically update and the next version of iTunes doesn’t automatically turns on Genius.

The end of an era

Published by queenofmyworld under Excited, Sad Edit This

Today is the last game ever to be played at Yankee Stadium, probably. At this point it is very unlikely that the Yankees will make the playoffs this year and next season the Yankees will open a new stadium across the street. The new Yankee Stadium, they say will be more like the original stadium. Well I wasn’t around more than 85 years ago so I don’t know if that’s true but it’s still exciting to think that the new stadium will be more like an old fashioned stadium. Whether or not the Yankees win tonight’s game it’s sure to be a bittersweet day for everyone at the stadium tonight, especially for the players, coaches, announcers, grounds crew, etc. It is exciting to imagine what next season at the new stadium will hold, but it’s also sad because tonight’s game is most likely to be the last game ever to be played in the House that Ruth built. How knows maybe the new stadium will be the House that Jeter built, one can only hope. All I can add is GO YANKEES! Let’s hope they end the season on a bang and win one tonight.
